Bringing Heritage to Screen | An exciting update on Zebra Uno’s involvement in the production of the 100 Years of Walsall Deaf Community Heritage Project!
Since we first introduced the project in Zebra Uno’s previous e-newsletter, the Zebra Uno Media team has enjoyed an incredibly busy and rewarding period. We’ve worked closely with Zebra Access CIO in bringing this important heritage project to the screen.
Zebra Uno Co-Director Nikki Stratton has taken on the role of Executive Producer. Media Project Management Officer Jack Smallwood has led the post-production editing process. Together, the team has helped take the project from concept to screen. Every stage has helped preserve and celebrate a century of Walsall Deaf community heritage.
A major milestone came with “A Special Screening of 100 Years’ Heritage of the Walsall Deaf Community”. Contributors and project team members gathered to preview the production together. Now, we’re excited to share the full series of episodes is online now!

The 100 Years of Walsall Deaf Community Heritage Project shines a light on a century of stories, experiences and achievements within Walsall’s Deaf community. The project celebrates the organisations, spaces and individuals that have helped shape the community. It also creates an important record for future generations.
Zebra Uno is proud to support Zebra Access CIO in sharing these stories with a wider audience through accessible and engaging media. Our team has supported production, project management and post-production. We’re turning recorded memories and heritage material into a lasting visual resource for the community and beyond.
For Zebra Uno, this project shows how media can amplify Deaf stories and preserve community history. It also helps ensure this intangible heritage remains available for future generations. We’re delighted to have played a part in bringing this significant chapter of Walsall’s heritage to the screen.
