The University of Wolverhampton’s ‘Deaf Studies and Interpreting Conference’ is taking place this Thursday (23rd May), celebrating 30 years of the provision of Sign Language Interpreter Education and Training.
The conference will reflect on their 30 years of achievements and the success of their work, as well as considering what the future could bring.
Taking place at the Mary Seacole Building (MH002), Nursery Street City Campus North (WV1 1AD), in Wolverhampton, there will be a full-day programme of speakers and presentations, which you can find out more about here.
Among them is Zebra Uno’s Co-Director, Nikki Stratton, who will deliver a presentation assessing the impact of digital spaces on the development of BSL – are renditions of a 3D language on a 2D screen changing our language?
It is £30.00 to attend the conference, which you can book via Eventbrite here.
A special congratulations to the University and both the Deaf Studies and Interpreting departments on their invaluable provision and the impact they have had over the past 30 years!
