Signing for Inclusion: BSL Videos Air at Vitality Blast

Zebra Uno Co-Director Nikki Stratton was proud to once again partner with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for this year’s Vitality Blast.

Building on the success of last year’s collaboration, Nikki returned to Edgbaston as a British Sign Language (BSL) Consultant, supporting players in learning key BSL phrases and promoting Deaf awareness in the lead-up to the tournament.

Working closely with Deaf England cricketers Joel Harris and Jake Oakes, Nikki played a key role in shaping the BSL content for the event. Together, they delivered engaging sessions in which players learned to sign impactful phrases such as “Raising the Game” and “Call it Out”.

The result was a series of powerful, inclusive video pieces featuring Vitality Blast players signing in BSL. These videos are currently being shown at Vitality Blast games across the country, further embedding accessibility and inclusion in the sport.
