Earlier this year, Zebra Uno Co-Director and former award-winning Channel 4 VEE TV presenter Nikki Stratton reunited with the iconic cast of ‘Rush’ – the UK’s first-ever Deaf drama series – for a nostalgic trip down memory lane!
Originally aired on Channel 4 in the early 2000s, ‘Rush’ followed a group of young Deaf college students and featured familiar faces like David Ellington, Deepa Shastri, Ilan Dwek, and more. Written by BAFTA-winner Ray Harrison-Graham and directed by both Cilla Ware and Ray himself, this ground-breaking series was a landmark moment for Deaf storytelling on screen.
Broadcast as part of Channel 4’s legendary Deaf magazine show VEE TV, ‘Rush’ broke barriers and made history.
The recent gathering included a rewatch of the series and a celebration of its legacy – bringing back all the feels!
