‘Do You Understand?’ at SHIDFF

‘Do You Understand?’ has been selected to be screened at the Shanghai International Deaf Film Festival (SHIDFF) this week.

The film, produced by Jack Smallwood, portrays emotions expressed by D/deaf people via a short BSL poem created for this project. The poem tackles the concept of dual identity, with D/deafness and selfhood.

The screening event organisers are Shanghai Sign-Voice Cultural Media Ltd and Shanghai SMG BesTV. The event theme is ‘Embracing Deaf Culture, Promoting Deaf-Hearing Integration’.
