Interpreting Service

Why us

Unrivalled level of professional service.

Zebra Uno provides British Sign Language/English Interpreters for the Deaf community in the West Midlands and UK. Our service is welcoming, competitive and confidential – and it is growing fast.

Quality is a huge priority, both in terms of our customer service and the interpreters we provide. Reliability, flexibility, understanding and confidentiality are all things we insist upon.

Tailored approach

Our approach reflects the fact that the majority of the Deaf community uses British Sign Language (BSL) as their first or preferred language. Individual needs, however, do vary. We therefore aim to empower each individual by offering a personalised language translation service.

Qualified and highly trained interpreters

Our interpreters are highly qualified, thoroughly trained and able to cope with practically any situation. All are:

  • Registered with the NRCPD;
  • Have Professional Indemnity Insurance;
  • Hold a minimum of NVQ level 6 language skills in BSL;
  • Are CRB/DBS checked and abide by the NRCPD Interpreter Code of conduct;
  • Adhere to professional standards;
  • Attend regular training days to further their professional development (CPD);
  • Experienced at working in sensitive circumstances;
  • Respectful of confidential information.

Alongside our in-house interpreters, we have access to a large number of freelance interpreters who are fully qualified, professional and have a wide range of interpreting experience.

All of them are registered with the NRCPD and are CRB/DBS checked. Furthermore they have their own Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) and partake in training to continue their professional development.

From our office, based in Wolverhampton, we provide communication support to deaf people from all over the UK.

We respect the clients’ individual needs and aim to empower individuals by offering a personalised language translation service.

We provide support with Access to Work (ATW) applications and paperwork and skilfully coordinate communication support so that deaf people can focus on their jobs.

We value feedback from our clients to help us improve our services and are committed to ensuring the satisfaction of our clients.
