Training & Consultancy

There are 11 million people with a hearing loss in the UK with more than 250,000 whose first or preferred language is British Sign Language (BSL).

The government has recognised BSL as an official language and acknowledges that deaf people need access to all areas of life, through BSL.

Zebra Uno understands that businesses and public bodies need expertise in raising deaf awareness to offer equal access to all people with a hearing loss.

"We support companies and organisations to comply with the Equality Act by providing insight into the communication needs of people with hearing loss."

We are focused on achieving equality for all deaf people

As a Deaf-led company, our work is focused on achieving equality for all deaf people. Through understanding and changing attitudes we can work positively with you to achieve clear and comprehensive approaches, enabling your company/organisation to become accessible.

You will gain insight into the communication needs of deaf people and how your company/organisation can comply with the Equality Act and become ‘Deaf Friendly’. By doing so, you will increase your intake of deaf customers and demonstrate your accessibility to the 11 million people with a hearing loss across the UK, also boosting your economy.

Reviewing and assessing the accessibility of your services can achieve this. We can advise and provide services in the following areas:

  • Delivering bespoke Deaf Awareness and sign language training to your particular requirements. Workshops can be tailor made to suit the needs of your group.
  • Providing technological services to improve access online (websites, social media etc.) i.e. pop up BSL videos, subtitles and voice-overs.

We aim to keep our costs competitive so that you will get your money’s worth in the long run.
